Lillian Alberty 1922-2010
We give thanks for the life of our longtime member Lillian Alberty, who died on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 after a brief illness. Our thoughts and prayers are with Lillian's husband Bob and their children, Catherine Baxter, Steven Alberty, and Nancy Zant. At this time when those of us in the Cambridge area are coming to terms with our enormous loss, we should reflect on the fact that Lillian's spirit has affected people far away as well as close by. As a beloved "faculty wife" and welcoming chair of the Informal Needlework Group of the Women's League at MIT, Lillian touched everyone she met with her genuine interest and kindness. She will be remembered by people in far-away places as well as those of us who were fortunate enough to be among her local friends.
