In Memory of Alice Argon

We are grateful for the life of longtime member Alice Argon, who died on December 13, 2015 after a short illness. Our thoughts and prayers are with her life partner, Kathryn Schnaible; her parents, Ali S. Argon and Xenia Argon; her brother, Kermit Argon; and her many colleagues and friends. Please see Alice's page on the University Lutheran Church website for more information, and share your memories here.

  1. I will always remember Alice's sense of humor, her frankness and ongoing presence at UniLu. We worked together on many efforts at the church and I've always looked forward to seeing her during trips home. I will miss her.

  2. I remember a forum where Alice talked about the jewelry she makes (and wears). Alice's manner is reserved, but at church, as in that forum and in prayers she led, she spoke of very personal things. She modeled church as a safe place. And she insisted it be a safe place for others, listening to everyone else who wanted to say something. There are just a few adults in the congregation that grew up at UniLu. They have a deep sense of belonging. I always felt that Alice wanted me and every one of us to belong there too.
